Bar|Scan
is an easy to use, Windows based system designed specifically to accommodate
design, facility, and accounting interface requirements. Bar|Scan runs on
all Windows platforms from 95 and NT through Windows 2000 and XP. Our system
includes the bar code reader program, communications software to get data
from the reader via serial cable or modem, and personal computer software.
Bar|Scan's report generator
allows you to create reports of your own design by completing three simple
screens. You can select which assets to print and in what order, which
columns should appear, where you want page breaks and subtotals, you can
also elect to have any field printed in bar code form for scanning purposes.
Bar|Scan can easily
export and import any information in a variety of formats including dBase,
Excel, ASCII, or SIF. Because it is a SQL compliant database, storing all data in dbf format
files, the data can be accessed directly by many CAD systems including
AutoCAD, Version 13.

Bar|Scan has several
optional modules available to meet individual user requirements including:
-
Local Area Networking
for simultaneous company wide access of your database by multiple users.
-
Multiple Database Module
to maintain separate departmental databases. Ideal for warehouse systems
to track multiple customers.
-
Import/Export Module
to exchange any field of information with other systems. Format options
include: Comma delimited ASCII, dBase, Data Interchange Format (DIF),
Symbolic Interchange Format (SIF), System Data Format, Lotus 123 and
Excel.
-
Work Order Module
allows you to place orders for various assets either specifically, by
asset number, or generally, by catalog description. Work Order
information can then be updated with the bar code reader. Tracks
completed and incomplete orders.
-
Catalog Imaging Module
allows color images from scanners and video capture equipment to be
linked to the system. Allows visual identification of assets on-line.
-
User Definable Fields Module
allows you to create as many of your own fields as you like anywhere in
the system. All of these fields can be primary sort fields. You can also
create User Definable Fields in the bar code reader.
